šŸHello, Fall!

Recently, I read an article for travel advisors which said we should be more transparent about ourselves to attract clients with similar beliefs and feelings.Ā  So, for the sake of being more transparent, I thought it might be fun to share a few things about me when it comes to my personal travel preferences.Ā  Let’s see how many things we agree on!

  • I feel Fall is the best time of year to travel.Ā  Summer allergy season is over, and the temperatures are cooler, so I can break out warmer, less revealing clothes and not sweat all day and night.Ā  I love the Fall foliage—especially on mountains and along rivers and lakes–and, I also appreciate that there are fewer travelers in the destinations I visit, and prices can be lower to travel during ā€œshoulderā€ season, the travel season between ā€œpeakā€ seasons such as summer and holiday travel.
  • I enjoy scuba diving, but I don’t enjoy swimming in the ocean such as along beachfronts or for snorkeling.Ā  Getting swamped by waves is not something I enjoy.
  • Though I visit a lot of beach destinations, I’m not a ā€œBeach Girl.ā€Ā  The sensation of sand between my toes and in other crevices is not one I enjoy.Ā  I much prefer relaxing around a beautiful swimming pool, especially if there is plenty of shade from palm trees, and I can hear Nature sounds.
  • My favorite room category at a resort is a swim-up room.Ā  I love to read a good book while bobbing around in the water.Ā  I also appreciate the ease of being close to my room for quick access to drinks, snacks, the bathroom, and for an afternoon nap away from other guests.Ā
  • Upgrading to Premium Economy or Business class seats on flights is worth it!
  • Fine dining experiences don’t impress me.Ā  Sitting through multiple courses of food I don’t really enjoy and that takes hours to finish feels like torture.
  • Ever have an annoying traveler in front of you on an airplane whose been guilty of repeatedly reclining back beyond where the seat should stop reclining, knocking your drink or computer over, or had someone repeatedly flip their long hair over the seat and into your face and food/drink?Ā  Yeah, I’ve been known to wait until they are sound asleep to get up from my seat, and if I happen to pull on their hair or jostle them awake with my hip or arm, I don’t feel too guilty. Ā Would you?
  • I often take pre-packaged candy to give to flight crews, hotel and cruise staff, and fellow tour guests to enjoy.Ā  A little chocolate and sweets can go a long way to improving everyone’s travel experience.
  • My favorite forms of travel are the only types of travel I now assist others with:Ā  African safaris; all-inclusive resorts; escorted tours; expedition cruising; premium and luxury small-ship cruising; and river cruising. Ā
  • I enjoy escorting other people to places they’ve always wanted to visit but were hesitant to go.
  • My favorite clients are life-long learners–especially lovers of culture, history, architecture, and the natural world and the critters living in it.

Want to know anything else about my travel-related preferences?Ā  I’m always transparent when working with my clients (and for the record, I didn’t need an article to remind me to be transparent).Ā

I’d love to hear about the places you’d like to visit, what’s important to you when you travel, and how you like to experience new destinations.Ā  Let’s set up a time to discuss your next vacation!Ā  You can reach me by phone at 309-256-2984, by email, or by completing the Contact form on this website.Ā

Until next time,

Jennifer
